About me

Hello. My name is Hugh Paterson and I am a writer. More specifically, I'm a writer looking for work. The purpose of this here nook in which you now find yourself ensconced is to find just that: Work. If you are scouring the horizon, searching for someone able to add zest to your already admirably lemony publication, then I am proof positive that there is an Odin in Valhalla.

Shuffle awkwardly to your right a tad, and you might venture to view some of my stuff. Please mind the step.

Those of you unwilling to take that exhausting trek slightly to one side may continue on here to gain some detail.

I am especially fond of writing prose that's fun to read and easy on the eye. Developing existing ideas is certainly a circled note on my doodle-scarred agenda, but being present at the furious genesis of new projects is more what I have in mind. So if you're starting a new mag or feature I would like to hear from you. Commissioning Editors or other serious types only please; else I'll batter you away from the doorstep with my sturdy broom.

Just in case you're still paying attention by this point, I'm based in the United Kingdom.

Examples of my work

I've conjured a number of whimsical projects into existence; including devising and writing the lion's share of the content in these websites. (I do not really steal from lions.):

www.tinyhorsey.co.uk

Tiny Horsey - The bewilderingly irregular mag. A major success amongst the 14 people that happen to be privy to its inscrutable sorcery.

www.eggmilk.com

eggmilk - An exercise in frivolity, and foundation for some playful poetry-prose. The main thrust of which is to allow a more freeform attitude to content, and the exercising of the dark side of my funny bone. Whatever that means, I'm just rambling now.

Additionally, I have enjoyed the honour of contributing to these pretty emissions:

www.theweekly.co.uk

The Weekly - Standards must be maintained.

www.goaste.cx

Goaste - No, read that again. It is not at all what you may think. Featuring a veritable pottery club of talented hands. Hmm, this cake is delicious.

I have also contributed to a mini several of local efforts, including the popular-at-the-time-but-now-extinct Art mag CYPHER, which covered the Colchester region.

Well, it is now time for you to take your leave. I have already released the hounds. Good luck making your way across the moor.

Now, where did I leave my bicycle...
